SMS / Mobile Messaging Privacy
This section explains how we handle information related to our text-messaging (SMS) program. It supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy.
What we collect. When you opt in to receive text messages from us, we collect your mobile phone number and a record of your consent (for example, the date, time, and method of opt-in, such as a checkbox on our website or a verbal/written request at the point of sale). If you reply to our messages, we also retain the content of those replies.
How we use it.We use your mobile number to send you (1) transactional messages about your reservation — such as deposit and payment reminders, balance-due notices, document/booking follow-ups, and trip logistics for the dance cruise you have booked — and (2) if you have opted in to marketing, occasional promotional announcements about upcoming sailings (Cajun & Zydeco bands, new dates, and special offers). We do not use your number for any purpose other than operating this messaging program and providing the services you requested.
No sharing with third parties.No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or your SMS opt-in/consent data with anyone for their own marketing. Information may only be disclosed to the messaging service providers (such as our SMS platform and the supporting telecommunications carriers) strictly as needed to transmit our messages to you, and never for those providers’ independent marketing purposes.
Message frequency. Message frequency varies. Transactional reminders are sent as your booking requires (for example, when a deposit or payment is due); promotional messages, if you opt in to them, are infrequent and tied to upcoming sailings.
Rates. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Events by LeVoyage does not charge for the messages themselves.
Your choices. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. You can reply HELP for assistance, or contact us through our contact page. Opting out of SMS will not affect your ability to book or pay by other means; consent to marketing texts is never a condition of any purchase.
Retention. We retain your opt-in and consent records for as long as needed to operate the program, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal obligations.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us operate our business — such as our payment processor (Stripe), email and SMS delivery providers, travel insurance provider, and the cruise lines on which your sailing is booked — and only as needed to provide the services you requested. We do not sell your personal information. As stated above, mobile opt-in information and SMS consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. Sensitive identifiers (such as passport numbers) are encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
